Despite the heavy rainfall and constant pitch inspections, UEFA insists the match will go ahead as scheduled, saying in a statement: “We are closely monitoring the weather forecast and at this stage the match will go ahead as scheduled."
United are in need of a win from their penultimate game of the group stage. Erik ten Hag's team are bottom of the group with three points but are just one behind Wednesday's opponents and Copenhagen, who beat the Red Devils 4-3 in their previous Champions League match.
Galatasaray got the better of the Premier League side when they met at Old Trafford in October. Despite United taking the lead on two occasions, the Turkish side went on to claim the three points with Wilfried Zaha, Kerem Akturkoglu and Mauro Icardi getting on the scoresheet.
