The 28-year-old has not been able to force his way back into the first team and has featured just once for the Blues this season — a 45-minute cameo against Barrow in the first round of the Carabao Cup. A January move seemed imminent, with Juventus reportedly interested, but the reports that his transfer options have dried up and he looks set to stay.
The west Londoners hoped to organise a loan move for the ex-Leicester star but it appears likely he will remain in the English capital until the summer. He is contracted to the Stamford Bridge side until the summer of 2027.
With a few days still to go, Chilwell will hope a club makes a late bid to rescue him from his nightmare at Chelsea. Meanwhile, Maresca's men will prepare for their Premier League clash against West Ham on Monday.
