Diario Sport has now reported that Fabregas could return to Barcelona for the Joan Gamper Trophy ahead of the start of the 2025-26 season, as the Catalan club may be set to pick Como as their opponents.
Last season, another one of Fabregas' former sides, Monaco, took their place as Barcelona's Joan Gamper Trophy opponents. The Ligue 1 side became the first team to beat the Catalan side in the tournament since 2012, when Sampdoria beat the Blaugrana.
England international and Como star Dele Alli may be set to go up against Lamine Yamal and Raphinha with the Joan Gamper Trophy match expected to take place in the second week of August.
